Luxurious Pool House

Lots of you are in that part of the world where summer started yesterday so I thought you'd like to see this pool house. Jewelry designer Elizabeth Locke's sophisticated poolhouse has wings for an orangerie and a plant room. Let us dive in.

An eight foot tall palm tree by the lap pool. Limestone flooring.

The table is set in the orangerie with 'Coral Charm' peonies, Aynsley plates and Source Perrier glasses.

Anglo-Indian 19th-c. sofa, antique English table, and American 19th-c. chairs.

The orchids are quite amazing. These are called Orchid Odontoglossum 'Margarete Holm.'

Azaleas, bougainvillea, oleander, orchids and a "Big Boy" palm decorate the plant room. Custom wrought-iron plant stand, an antique metal and marble table, and a pagoda-style light fixture complete the atmosphere.

A white bathroom with a French 19th-c. chandelier and antique inlaid bench.

"Cabana closet"

This is the pool house exterior with wings for the orangerie and plant room. Virginia creeper soon will cover the walls.

  1. Wow, these are beautiful photos, thanks for sharing! I love the mix of modern & traditional in the bathroom. It works, but I would not have thought of those pieces together!

    Warmly, Michelle

i love this home - not because it's expensive and luxurious, but because of the daylight that's streaming in through all those windows. lovely!

  5. Oh, I love this house! Imagine walking into your home and being greeted by a beautiful, big pool like that! I would adore it. I love the atrium in picture #5 as well, it's so light, calming and relaxing with a wonderful view of the garden. And that tall palm is so gorgeous!
